Rebetiko Night: Ainitis, Papatragiannis, Lambiri
Andonis Ainitis was born in Lamia, with roots in Asia Minor. He father was a musician and close friend of many musiciens, like In Athens he started playing at the legendary ‘Fragkosyriani’ Rebetiko Club, where he was also responsible for the musical direction of the orchestra. He played in numerous other clubs after that. He played with big artists like Giannis Papaioannou, Giorgos Mitsakis, Loukas Daralas etc.
He is a very respectful and faithful interpreter of Rebetiko songs,
a real exponent of the music of the Rebetiko world.
He plays the 6-string bouzouki and sings, both in a very charismatic style.
Sotiris Papatragianis is a self-taught musician and singer who belongs to the top-league of the new generation performers. He has published one personal cd, at , by the title "Romantza", produced by "General music" and "8th Nota". He has also participated at the cd’s of Katerina Tsiridou (“Kismet”, “Opou ki an ise gyrise”, "Aman Katerina"), the soundtrack of the international documentary “My sweet canary”, the cd of Nikos Tatasopoulos (“Osa chronia ki an perasoun”) the cd of the Latin-Swedish band "Faela" ("Por el mundo") and more.
Athena Labiri was born and raised in Limenaria, Thassos, a small village in an also small northen island in Greece. Since she colaborated with several cretan musicians, and had the chance to be taught how to play cretan lute and lavta from lute players Stelios Sikakis and Dimitris Sideris. She also colaborated with lyra players Zacharias Spyridakis and Dimitris Sgouros. She recently participated in Dimitris Sgouros' new record, "Songs and Melodies from Crete. The Archives of Paul G. Vlastos", which was released in April of .
