The Pécs Gallery Archives Foundation marks the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus design school with an exhibition series featuring the works of graphic artists, designers, artist’s book creators, typographers, photographers, animators and intermedia artists. Whereas the first show in focused on the parallels between the roots of Bauhaus in constructivism and its influence on contemporary art, this exhibition presents exclusively the masterpieces of contemporary artists, dedicated to the centenary.
Hommage á Bauhaus 100 is a tribute to a movement, which has profoundly shaped creative thinking to this day, as well as to its Hungarian-born students and professors such as Marcell Breuer, Alfréd Forbád, Hugo Joha, Farkas Molnár, Henrik Stefan and Andor Weininger. Based on the activities of Bauhaus workshops, the exhibition investigates the significance of Bauhaus and its bound to contemporary animation and intermedia art through graphics, artist’s books and photography. The impact of Bauhaus on industrial design will be showcased through products from the period in a Bauhaus-like interior.
