Bert Cornelis (Sitar) & Pt. Udhav Shinde (Pakhawaj)

 
Sitar player Bert Cornelis follows a life-long training with Pt Ashok Pathak since more then ears, and completed academic studies at the Prayag Samiti University for classical music in India. The Pathak 'Gharana' (style) is famous for the mastering of both of the jor Indian classical music styles Khyal and Dhrupad, for the unique sitar technics and for the original approach of the ragas.

Pandit Udhav Apegaonkar Shinde (pakhawaj) is the son of the legendary Padmashree Bapu Apegaonkar. He is one of very few artists in the world to have mastered this ancient instrument. He is much applauded for his solo work as well as accompanying the greatest Dhrupad masters.
Bert and Udhav play since more then 10 years the original combination of sitar and pakhawaj, with much international success, appreciated by the public, journalists and scholars. They appeared several times in tv broadcasts and in their first cd came out...
