FR - Un retour subtil et tout en nuance de Bai Kamara Jr à ses racines africaines. Le
blues s’est présenté à lui comme une évidence pour exprimer ses sentiments et ses
inspirations musicales. « Mon parcours musical et artistique m’a conduit à cette étape
essentielle de ma carrière où le projet « Salone » (Sierra Leone) me permet enfin une
plongée dans mes racines africaines et plus spécifiquement dans celles de mon pays
d’origine. Jamais auparavant je n’avais eu la force d’entreprendre ce travail. J’ai été
prédestiné à vivre entre deux continents, l’Afrique et l’Europe, mais les sons et les rythmes
africains ont toujours vécu en moi. La réalisation de cet album a été une introspection
spirituelle, joyeuse, rafraîchissante et gratifiante.»

NL – Bai Kamara Jr keert op uiterst subtiele en genuanceerde wijze terug naar zijn
Afrikaanse wortels. Voor hem is blues de ideale muziek om gestalte te geven aan zijn
emoties en muzikale inspiratiebronnen. « Mijn muzikaal en artistiek parcours leidde me tot
deze essentiële stap in mijn loopbaan. Met het project « Salone » (Sierra Leone) kan ik
eindelijk mijn Afrikaanse roots en mijn bakermat exploreren. Nu pas heb ik de kracht om dit
project te ondernemen. Hoewel voorbestemd om te leven tussen twee continenten, Afrika en
Europa, hebben de Afrikaanse ritmes en klanken altijd in me voortgeleefd. De realisatie van
dit album resulteert uit een enthousiaste, verfrissende, spirituele en bevredigende
introspectie.»

EN – My musical and artistic journey has now led me to this pivotal stage of my career
where the ‘Salone’ project finally allows me to delve into my African roots and more
specifically that of of Sierra Leone, my country of origin. Never before had I had the strength
to undertake this work. Though I was predestined to live between Africa and Europe, the
rythms and sounds of African have always lived in me. Artistically, the making of this album
was a spiritual, joyful, refreshing and rewarding introspection. As the blues has always been
at the heart of my artistic journey and it was the obvious and perfect vehicle to express my
feelings and musical inspirations for this expedition into the roots of my African heritage.&
