GRANDE SertÃo: Gonzaga project is the convergence of the musical work of Luiz Gonzaga with the Brazilian literacy classic “Grande Sertão: Veredas”, by Guimarães Rosa. In this blend of universes, the singular Carol Andrade's voice and the Alex Maia's sophisticated acoustic guitar multiply into original arrangements and enchanting performances to take listeners on an emotional and special journey through the “big sertão” of each individual. The duo of Carol Andrade (voice) and Alex Maia (acoustic guitar) began their musical journey in 1997. Their debut album - “Vida Adentro” - was released in 2005. In 2013, Carol Andrade launched her first solo album called “Outras Mulheres” (Other Women), dedicated to Brazilian women songwriters from Brazil, arranged and produced by Alex Maia. That concert was held in several Brazilian cities culminating to their first European Tour, in 2014.
