Love's Labour's Lost by William Shakespeare

PERFORMED in english: This "cerebral" but sparkling comedy is one of Shakespeare's early plays which explores the conflict between a life of intellectual study and the pursuit of love. The grounds of Corroy-le-Château provide a perfect background for the action set in the King of Navarre's park, where courtiers and commoners meet. The King and three friends have sworn to forego the pleasure of the world and to devote themselves to a three-year period of study. However, their oath is quickly put to the test with the arrival of the Princess of France and her three ladies-in-waiting. Will the men remain steadfast of will love win the day?
