Rey Cabrera was born on anuary 1943 in the “montes” surrounding Santiago de Cuba. He grew up with the Ochoa family, the renowned musicians of “Buena Vista Social Club” and left the mountains with Maria and Eliades Ochoa to devote his life to music in Santiago de Cuba.
