After many years of experience, teaching has become an ongoing passion and I developed a powerful and fun approach of teaching for beginners and advanced students.
Hendrike Scharmann, (*1990, de) developed a strong interest in non-Western music after studying jazz violin at the conservatory of Antwerp. She left for India for a period of eight months where she studied Indian classical music on violin with Swarna Kunthia. She continued these studies with Asad Qizilbash in Brussels and traveled to Palestine, Algeria and Senegal to discover their local musical traditions. These influences combined with electronics come together in her solo project - baum - using multiple instruments and visuals. Hendrike is a member of 'Pablo's Eye' (live duo electronics, violin, voice), Picea Orientalis, Botanical Bodies, and active as a freelance musician collaborating with Zach Phillips (Fievel is Glauque), Youssou N’Dour, Daniel Dzidzonu, Zwangere Guy, played on two records from 'Stikstof', composing music for films, documentaries, theater and other projects.
